4th Turning Strategy

About us

Built by people who have steered through change before.

4th Turning Strategy exists for one reason: to help leaders make good decisions about AI while the window for good decisions is open.

The founder

Fran Strajnar has spent two decades at the front edge of technology adoption — building companies, advising boards, and learning, sometimes expensively, what separates a technology wave you ride from one that rides you. He founded 4th Turning Strategy on a simple conviction: AI is the defining force of this era, and most organizations are getting advice about it from people who have never run anything.

The team around him is deliberately small and deliberately senior. No leverage model, no junior analysts learning on your invoice. When you engage us, the people in the room are the people doing the work.

The network

Behind the tight core sits a global network of specialists we assemble per engagement — engineers, researchers, sector operators and regulators-turned-advisors across four continents. You get the three right people for your problem, not the nearest ten.

The background we bring

  • Ex-accelerator operators
  • Inventors
  • Asset managers
  • M&A advisors
  • Board members

Our vision

Navigating the Fourth Turning with AI.

We named the firm for a pattern that recurs in history. Roughly once every four generations — a cycle the historians William Strauss and Neil Howe called the saeculum — societies pass through a crisis era in which institutions that looked permanent are remade. The last one ran from 1929 to 1946. By most readings, we are in one now.

Whatever you make of the theory, the planning assumption holds: this is a decade in which operating models get rewritten, not refined. Artificial intelligence is doing most of the rewriting. The leaders who treat it as an IT upgrade will spend the decade reacting; the leaders who treat it as a once-a-cycle opportunity to rebuild will set the terms for everyone else.

Our work is helping you be the second kind. Visionary in direction, pragmatic in execution, candid always. Turnings reward the prepared.

A 45-minute call. Candid answers. A clear view of where you stand — whether or not we end up working together.
